This is a large white stoneware hanging pot or cache pot. It is wheel thrown, trimmed, textured, and carved, and hung with an antique brass plated steel hanging chain. It is signed and dated, glazed in satin to glossy blue/green and glossy orange glazes, and electric fired to about 2210 degrees Fahrenheit.
This piece measures approximately 8 inches tall, 10 inches wide at the widest point of the rim, and 6 1/2 inches deep. It can hold up to a short 8 inch plant pot (photo 5). The bottom of the pot is slightly warped due to its weight on the stilt while firing, but this isn't noticeable when it's hanging.
